Being huge fans of user accessibility and that little "CC in a TV" icon, Definition now offers closed captioning services for just about any kind of media - DVDs, Quicktime, Flash Video, you name it. Give us a call and ask for Ryan with any questions about closed caption implementation.

Much to talk about since our last news post. We launched the Dear American Voter project for Link TV in March, a community-powered video commentary site. Definition celebrated its fourth anniversary on St. Patrick's Day, sans shamrocks. We've also welcomed a new member, Jeff Glover, to the Definition team. Two more projects launching in the coming weeks, stay tuned.

Are you getting in the swing of holiday spending, and enjoying the feeling of being generous? Would you rather help someone in need, rather than fill up a landfill with clamshell packaging and used AA batteries? If you said "yes" to both (even if you're reluctant to say yes to the first one), then we strongly encourage you to join us in donating to our favorite charities, an effort we like to call Project G.O.A.T.

Project G.O.A.T

Project G.O.A.T.

We believe that individuals and companies, big and small, have a duty to act as responsible members of the global community. To that end, we have instituted a program dubbed Project G.O.A.T (Global Opportunities through Advocacy and Technology) as a means of giving something back to the world.

We've chosen the goat as a symbol for this initiative because goats are highly adaptable animals that provide many valuable resources. A family can receive up to a gallon of milk from a single goat every day. That's more than enough milk not only to drink, but to use to make cheese, butter or yogurt, plus to sell whatever's left and buy much-needed clothes, school supplies and medicine.

Goats donated to date:

Heifer International These donations are made possible through the work of Heifer International, an organization dedicated to making a difference in the struggle against hunger and poverty across the globe. Please visit their web site to find out more about Heifer, and how you can help.

New initiatives in 2007:

One Laptop per Child
One Laptop Per Child The mission of One Laptop per Child (OLPC) is to empower the children of developing countries to learn by providing one connected laptop to every school-age child.

We believe the emerging world must leverage children's innate capacities to learn, share, and create on their own. OLPC's answer to that challenge is the XO laptop, a children's machine designed for "learning learning."
Project Rwanda
Project Rwanda Project Rwanda is committed to furthering the economic development of Rwanda through initiatives based on the bicycle as a tool and symbol of hope. Their goal is use the bike to help boost the Rwandan economy as well as re-brand Rwanda as a beautiful and safe place to do business and visit freely.
Nothing But Nets
Nothing but Nets Nothing But Nets is a grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa.
